TREDETHY Hill was closed in both directions on June 19 after a car crashed into Helland Bridge near Bodmin.

The 15th century bridge, which spans the River Camel, sustained considerable structural damage and was closed by Cornwall Council just after 12:40pm.

In its report, roads traffic and monitoring service Inrix said: “Tredethy Hill in both directions closed due to accident near Tredethy Hill. Traffic is coping well.

“Road closed just after 12.40pm following an accident on the bridge over the river. 

“Might be closed for some time.’”

The Cornish Times contacted Devon and Cornwall Police for further information regarding this incident.
