The Tamar Valley Centre, just a five-minute walk from Gunnislake railway station, will be hosting a one-day training event next month, delivered by Healthy Cornwall.

Making Every Contact Count is a technique that anyone can use to support and encourage others to make healthier lifestyle choices.

The free training session is aimed at community organisations, local businesses and volunteers.

Jo Pridham, one of Cornwall Council’s Health, Safety & Wellbeing Champions at Tamar Valley AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), said: ‘We are really pleased to be able to offer this training event. We know the difference just a few small lifestyle changes can make to your overall health. I’m certainly keen to pick up more tips!’

Organiser Indra Herbert said: ‘During the day, we will discuss key health messages and the importance of healthy lifestyle choices. We will also look into how effective communication supports the promotion of key lifestyle messages.’

Making Every Contact Count will be held at the Tamar Valley Centre on Tuesday, August 7, 10am–4pm.

Booking is essential, as space is limited. Please call the Tamar Valley AONB team on 01822 835030 or email [email protected]
