Surfers Against Sewage is warning bathers that the recent heavy rain has turned some beaches into a health risk.
South East Cornwall beaches impacted by this include Par Beach, Readymoney Cove in Fowey, Millendreath and Seaton beach who all have sewer overflows discharging into nearby water.
Although Looe, has no sewer overflow discharging directly on to the beach several discharge into the River Looe Estuary and catchment upstream putting that at risk.
Surfers Against Sewage has an interactive map where people can check the quality of water at their local beaches go to www.sas.org.uk/map.
