A patients’ group which gives people a say on changes and issues affecting their surgery needs more people to take on key roles.
The Tamar Valley Health Patients Group is ‘in need of an injection’, said a spokesperson, who added that in recent months, the committee has lost several members for health and personal reasons.
‘The committee has virtually ceased to exist and useful projects have had to be dropped for lack of support,’ the spokesperson said.
‘It is very important that patients have an effective way of expressing their views on GP services.’
Tamar Valley Health has surgeries in Callington and Gunnislake.
The role of the Patients Group is to collect feedback from patients; make suggestions for changes and improvements; advise and comment on changes proposed by the practice; sponsor and publicise campaigns for healthier living; and monitor NHS and other surveys comparing the practice with others.
