More South East Cornwall areas which had previously temporarily disappeared from the COVID-19 ‘cluster’ areas map of the country have reappeared in the most recent figures released by Public Health England.

The figures relate to the period from October 18-24, and a ‘cluster’ is defined as three or more people with the virus in an area of 750,000 people.

In South East Cornwall, the area with the most cases continues to be Kingsand, Antony and Maryfield, with 39 people having coronavirus – a rise of one person infected compared to the previous set of figures.

The area of Saltash Town and Pillmere is now back on the clusters map with three cases of the virus, while in Mid Saltash the situation remains unchanged with five cases, and in Saltash Latchbrook and St Stephens the number of people with the virus has fallen by one to leave four people still affected.

The area of St Germans and St Mellion has returned to the clusters map with four people suffering from the virus, and in the area of Callington and Pensilva the number of cases has risen by one to make four people currently having the virus there too.

In the Liskeard cluster area, the number of people with COVID-19 has fallen by one to leave three people still affected, but in neighbouring Dobwalls, Addington and Menheniot the number of cases has risen by two to show six people are infected.

In Looe and Polperro the situation is unchanged with a total of three people having coronavirus, and in St Neot and St Cleer there are still four people with COVID, but there is also a return of the area Altarnun and Stoke Climsland to the clusters map with three cases there.

In Lostwithiel and Penwithick there are still eight cases of COVID, Par still has six cases, and in Lanreath, Pelynt and Polruan the situation is also unchanged from the previous figures with three cases.

The Mid Cornwall figures show there still to be four people with COVID-19 in Bodmin East, while in Bodmin West the number of cases has risen by one to leave six people affected.

In the area of St Austell North and Carclaze the number of people with the virus has risen by two to make a total of five people suffering with COVID-19, but in St Austell East and Carlyon Bay there is no change at six cases, and in St Austell Central there are still three cases.
