iSightCornwall, one of Cornwall’s oldest charities, is launching a new fund to help remove barriers to independent living and enhance the lives of people living with sight loss.
The Inspiring Futures Fund is being launched on Thursday, July 28 as part the charity’s 160th birthday celebrations. Anyone living in Cornwall who is sight impaired or severely sight impaired may apply for a grant up to the value of £1,000 to be used in a way that will inspire their future.
This could be for anything from talking kitchen equipment that gives visually impaired people the confidence to cook independently, to specialist computer software enabling them to continue or gain employment.
The grant could also be used to purchase video magnifiers that allow people to enjoy their hobbies; or tablets and smartphones with built in assistive technology so that they can easily communicate with friends and family.
To find out more about the fund and to apply, visit www.isightcornwall.org.uk/inspiringfutures. Alternatively you can request a large print copy of the application form by calling 01872 261110.
