A Health Promotion Day will take place at the St Mellion International Resort tomorrow (Monday September 24)
Stands and stalls at the event will highlight the range of groups in Cornwall helping people improve their health, fitness and wellbeing.
The event is being organised by Cornwall Can, a campaign launched in June of this year with the aim of members reaching a collective 50,000lb weight loss.
More than 200 people have signed up to Cornwall Can so far, losing a combined total of 500lbs over the last three months.
Amongst the groups represented at tomorrow’s Health Promotion Day will be Caradon Mummyfit, a group which helps mums with nutrition, exercise and mental health after their babies are born, dance organisation 4funkzsake, Bodeeworkz, which delivers health and fitness into the heart of rural communities, and Positive People, an organisation helping people back into work.
There will be the chance to hear friendly advice and support from experts in running, nutrition, weight loss, fitness training and mindfulness, and visitors to the event can take advantage of free blood pressure checks.
