Medication worth up to £3m is being wasted each year in Cornwall.
The situation has led to the NHS in the county encouraging patients to play their part by only ordering the medicines they need.
NHS Kernow is working with its partners to improve medicines ordering and prescribing systems.
And the body is asking the public to take the following steps to help:

If you’re going to hospital, take your medicines with you.
Return unused medicines to your pharmacy.
Don’t flush medicines down the toilet.
