Perranporth Beach was turned into a hub of sporting competition as the Cornwall Beach Games took place.
Fifteen teams from businesses across Cornwall came together to compete in a series of sporting activities such as volleyball, netball, rounders, tug of war and the famous sandcastle building competition.
Bruce Lockie, physical activity lead at co-organisers the Cornwall Sports Partnership said: ’This is the sixth year that the Cornwall Sports Partnership in partnership with the Health Promotion Service has run the beach games, providing an afternoon of different sports for local workplaces. This year included some new businesses taking part in the games for the first time including Devon and Cornwall Police, Twelves Company and Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The games are a fantastic opportunity to see businesses away from their core work and engaging in physical activity and promoting their staff’s well-being.’
During the closing ceremony, all teams received a pennant to remember the day with the top three teams presented with an award. In third place was H Tempest, Second was Francis Clark and the winners were Planning and Enterprise (Cornwall Council).
