People all over South East Cornwall have been heading for their parish halls, church or community centre today to cast their vote in the local elections.
Some of the places serving as polling stations are a little more unusual - residents of Looe East and Deviock can head to the Seaton Beach Cafe to make their choice of candidates, and another impressive polling station with a sea view is Caerhays Castle on the Roseland Peninsula.
Also close to the water is the Castle Dore Rowing Club, today acting as a polling station for the Fowey, Tywardreath & Par ward.
In Polruan, the fire station is opening its doors to voters, and there are a handful of pubs in Cornwall where you can put your mark on the ballot paper.
Wherever you go to cast your vote today, you’ll be helping to choose the councillors that will lead and make decisions on Cornwall Council through the next four years - and choosing your new Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall.
Some town and parish councils, including Maker with Rame and St Cleer, will also be holding elections because more candidates have come foward than there are seats.
If you have symptoms of the coronavirus today or have been told to self-isolate, you can apply for an emergency proxy vote until 5pm - go to https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/the-council-and-democracy/elections/different-ways-to-vote/ to use the online form.
