ANYONE who has a heart can join in a world record attempt in which South East Cornwall is playing its part.

Heart-shaped messages have been filling British Heart Foundation charity shop windows all over the country in the run-up to St Valentine’s Day for over a decade.

But this year people also have the chance to have their personal messages displayed in a record-breaking chain of paper hearts.

For St Valentine’s Day, the BHF is attempting to break the world record for the longest chain of paper hearts, which currently stands at 8,525.

Liskeard’s BHF shop has been collecting hearts with messages for the bid.

And supporters are also making a donation to have their heart messages placed in the shop window.

The world record hearts will be sold up to St Valentine’s Day and then sent to London to be strung together to create a giant chain for the record attempt.

Liskeard’s team is recruiting for volunteers at the moment – pop into the shop on Bay Tree Hill to find out more.
