Bodybuilder Mike Owen has won this year's 'Mr Plymouth Masters' championship – the third consecutive year he has quite literally lifted the honour.
The Callington athlete, who trains at the St Mellion Golf and Country Club gymnasium, has now been invited to compete in the National Amateur Body-Builders' Association's (NABBA) British championship contest to be held in Dudley in the West Midlands.
Mike puts his successes down to the help he has received from his trainer, World Body-Builders' Union's 'Mr Universe' bodybuilding champion Dennis Phillips.
His latest win came at the City College, Plymouth, when he was up against competitors from all over the South West region.
'Dennis has honed my diet and training programme that has help me maximise my genetic potential,' explained Mike, who has also been assisted by the gym staff and members at St Mellion.
'I use the Body Pump and Cycle Fit sessions at St Mellion Gym and have found it all to be a fantastic and fun way to get in shape.'
