Around 40 artists and crafters will be showcasing their talents at an exhibition in Liskeard.
The show will be the first in a series of artisan events to support the Sepsis Trust UK.
More than 50 different sort of crafts will be on display and on sale at the Elliot House Hotel from tomorrow (Tuesday March 26) to Saturday March 30.
‘The exhibition has the dual purpose of spreading awareness of sepsis amd raising funds for the Trust, a national charity which is supported by and working with the NHS,’ said Victor Briggs, who co-runs the South and East Cornwall Sepsis Support Group. The group meets regularly in Liskeard, with the next meeting to be held on Thursday April 25.
‘Sepsis is recognised as a major killer and is still responsible for around 44,000 deaths in the UK each year,’ said Victor.
‘The need for early diagnosis and the correct treatment is paramount. A new diagnostic aid that is undergoing tests currently will enable the medical profession to achieve a successful diagnosis within three minutes, and this will result in quicker treatment.’
