A TOTAL of ten East Cornwall Harriers were among the 125 runners who competed in the five-mile multi-terrain race at Boconnoc on Sunday.
There were impressive times from the younger Harriers of Steven Sims (33 minutes and one second) and Liam Smith (33.34), who finished eighth and 13th overall respectively.
The other Harriers' finishing times were: Terry Leech (first male vet 50-59) 33.12; Adam Purvis 34.02; Mark Andrews 36.49; Ian Ringer (third male vet 60-plus) 40.18; Andrew Sims, 41.05; Marie Gentle 43.15; Mary Mullarkey (first female vet 60-plus) 44.19; and Sue Craze 59.29.
The popular ten-mile Deviock Bounder race – starting and finishing at Seaton Beach – saw 15 East Cornwall Harriers take part along with 43 other entrants.
Oli Jones took third place overall and was the first Harrier over the line in a time of 64 minutes.
The Next Harrier was Bob Brown, just 29 seconds behind, followed by Mark Davidson as the first male vet in the 40-44 category in 68 minutes.
The other Harriers' finishing times were: Dan Charman (2nd male vet 40-44) 71 minutes; Diane Roy (second female overall and first female vet 45-plus) 73; Paul Arrowsmith 74; Sharon Daw (first female vet 40-44 and third female overall) 74; Tracey Buckley (first senior female) 78; Mark Andrews (third male vet 50-54) 81; Pat Parritt (third female vet 45-plus) 89; Amada Erith and Carol Pollard 91; Anton Luiten (second male vet 45-49) 94; Ellen Loopstra 95; Dave Hotchkiss 98; and Peter Luff 100.
