Community groups have just two weeks left to apply for a regional grant of up to £10,000 to help local people look after their hearts.

National charity Heart Research UK is urging groups to submit applications for the Heart Research UK and Subway® Healthy Heart Grant before September 11.

Projects should demonstrate health initiatives such as cooking skills and healthy eating and encourage people to move more and promote positive mental wellbeing.

The £10,000 has been raised in Subway® stores throughout the West Country and through the nationwide Subway Helping Hearts™ Family 5K fun runs.

The winner from the West Country in 2018 was the ‘Dangerous Dad’s Network, who launched the ‘Dad Dancing Fit Club’ to give men in Torbay the chance to keep fit and healthy.
