Visitors to the Tamar Valley are invited to celebrate bats at one of 25 Bat Festival events across the county.

The Festival is organised by the Devon Greater Horseshoe Bat Project which aims to secure a future for Devon’s population of endangered greater horseshoe bats.

About a third of the UK’s population of this species live in Devon.

The Bat Festival gives everyone an opportunity to find out more about the secret life of bats. A family wildlife event will be held at the Tamar Valley Centre on September 7. There will be drop-in activities during the afternoon and between 7pm and 10pm a bat walk and moth trapping!
