Work to make winter journeys safer for drivers on the A38 Glynn Valley starts next week.

From Monday, November 13 the work will be carried out between 8.30pm and 6am for five nights.

Service manager Emma Bazeley said: ‘We carry out this work twice a year to make sure the road is in a safe condition for the coming season and we will be carrying out resurfacing work.

‘During the Autumn closure we also check that gullies and drains are free from obstructions and cut back vegetation so that road signs are clearly visible.

‘Clearly signed diversions will be in place and, while we do carry the work out overnight, we would encourage drivers to allow a little more time for their journeys.’

A full closure of the road and diversions between Turfdown Cross and Twelvewoods Roundabout will be required.

Access for residents will be maintained at all times, as follows:

• Turfdown to Bodmin Parkway station – access from Turfdown roundabout.

• White Lodge – access from Mount junction, North lane and/or the St Neot junction by the Halfway House pub.

• Trago Mills employees and properties between Lower Lodge and Doublebois – access the A38 to the east via the B3360 and the A390.

• Dobwalls (Twelvewoods roundabout) and Doublebois – access via Doublebois crossroads.

• Halfway House pub – access will be maintained via North Lane and will be signed from the A390.  Drift Lane will be signed to dissuade motorists from cutting through to the A38.

Through traffic will be diverted as follows:

• All light vehicles travelling both eastbound and westbound will be diverted via Lostwithiel.

• All HGVs travelling westbound will also be diverted via Lostwithiel

• All HGVs over 20 tonnes travelling eastbound will be diverted via the A30 to Treburseye and then onto the A390 to rejoin the A38 at Carkeel roundabout.
