THE Ladies Singles Competition, for the Cornish Guardian Shield, took place at the Millennium Centre at Pensilva.
The winner was Gloria Wilton of Castoffs from Division Two with a total of 77 pins.
Runner-up was Sandra Joyce of Sandpipers, also from Division Two, with 75 pins.

FIRST on the alleys were Gremlins and Potholers playing a catch up game, where at half time the latter led by two pins.
However, Gremlins did manage to share the two points of the second half resulting in a 5-1 point victory.
In Potholers' second game they faced True Brits and once again led at the half way stage and however hard True-Brits tried they were unable to match Potholers, who ended up with a 23 pin majority and six more points to put them firmly at the top of the table.
In Gremlins second game of the evening they managed to hold a seven pin advantage at half time over Bodmin Beasts, and as they did in their first game they shared the two second half points to show a 5-1 victory over the beasts by seven pins.
A very close encounter saw the Sex Bombs and Middlers drawn together with Bombs holding a five pin advantage after four legs.
However, Middlers showed remarkable improvement in the second half pulling back those five pins and finishing with that rare occurrence of a drawn game, thus sharing the six points at stake.
The G.A.S. team held a remarkable 23 pin advantage at the halfway stage in their game versus Wreckers, but their scoring rate fell in the second half allowing Wreckers to grab the two second half points.
But with their four points G.A.S. hold on to third place.
The final game of the evening saw a bottom-of-the-table clash where, after four legs of skittling, Bodmin Landers led by three pins over Latecomers.
In the second half Latecomers were the improved team of four, claiming the remaining four points with their 12 pin overall majority and creeping off the bottom spot.
