Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is excited to announce that they have once again secured a variety of gardens across the region to open throughout the spring and summer to help raise vital funds for the charity.

Bodwannick Manor Farm at Nanstallon near Bodmin is opening its garden on Sunday 29th April between 10am and 3pm.

The one-acre plantsman’s garden has a fern-rich rockery, water gardens, daffodils, roses and shrubs.

It is remarkable for its aura of peace and tranquillity and was the lifetime creation of Martin Appleton and his family. The garden is now in the care of the Gaia Trust, which is developing it to provide volunteering opportunities for local people with health and wellbeing needs, and is full of year-round interest.

Admission on the day will cost £5 for adults and under 12s go free. Refreshments will be available and there will also be a plant sale on the day. Dogs on leads are welcome, there will be parking available however access for wheelchairs is limited.

Alice Merrett, Community Fundraiser for CHSW said “We are really excited to have so many fantastic gardens opening their gates to our supporters this year. Our Open Gardens are a great way for people to see gardens not always open right on their doorstep while supporting their local children’s hospice – Little Harbour.”
