It is becoming increasingly likely that one of Cornwall's few remaining 'nomadic' cricket clubs will fold. Morval Cricket Club was founded in 1980 and although it used to have its own pitches, for many years now it has played only a handful of away fixtures each summer – providing cricket for those who, perhaps, could not figure in the Saturday leagues, without all the headaches associated with maintaining a cricket square and a clubhouse.

The club has plenty of equipment; a ready supply of evening fixtures for the summer months ahead and a healthy bank balance.

All that's lacking are more players – and if that position is not resolved within the coming weeks, the club is almost certain to go out of business. Anyone interested in playing should contact one of the principal officers as soon as possible – President John Collings (01503 240 569); chairman Mark Southwell (01503 240 352), or secretary Paul Sedgbeer (01503 264 053).
