With confirmed cases of coronavirus in Plymouth St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth has taken the precautionary measure of postponing the mass participation fundraising event, Men’s Day Out, due to take place on March 28. This will be rearranged to take place on a Saturday later in 2020.
The largest fundraising event in St Luke’s calendar, it was set to raise a record amount of funding to help the hospice care for terminally ill people at end of life.
A spokesperson said: ’The health and wellbeing of patients, supporters, staff and volunteers is the overriding concern and, as a healthcare provider, the utmost priority is taking every reasonable step to protect them while also recognising the responsibility to care for the wider community.’
