SALTASH Blind and Partially sighted Club organised a concert at Burraton Community Centre on Saturday evening to raise funds. Taking part were Western Approach Harmony Singers, Plymouth Townswomens Guild Federation Choir with their Musical Director Mrs Betty Bovan, as well as pupils of the Geraldine Lamb Dance School. The compere was Miss A Miller. The evening began with the Gentlemen of Western Approach singing a varied selection and this was followed by a dance by the children of the dance school. Plymouth Federation of Townswomens Guild Choir sang a selection of songs from the "Sound of Music" and music of the 70's. At the end of the concert the Mayor of Saltash Mrs Sue Hooper presented the Mayor's special award to Mrs Shirley Evans, Chairman of the Saltash Blind and Partially Sighted Club for all her work for the blind of the town. She received a cut glass vase with the Saltash Coat of arms engraved on it.
