MORE than 100 people enjoyed an afternoon of family fun at Benodet Park in Torpoint in support of a local charitable appeal.

Youngsters enjoyed performances from Disney princesses, face painting, bouncy castles and a mini dance class at the ‘Ava’s Fund-Day’.

The event raised over £900 for Ava’s Fund, an appeal established by Sophia and Gareth Williams following the loss of their daughter, Ava, who was stillborn in July 2016.

Now the couple are working with the charity Towards Tomorrow Together to raise awareness of, and reduce stillbirth rates in the South West.

‘A massive thank you to everyone who was involved in setting up and organising the event, and also to everyone who attended,’ said Sophia.

‘Ava’s Fund-Day will be taking place again next year on July 28 and we expect it to be even bigger and better.’
