Freeview viewers in parts of south east Cornwall may need to retune their TV equipment on April 10 to continue watching some programmes.

Some Freeview channels are moving to new airwaves to allow for the development of new mobile broadband services - the move will impact around 63,000 homes in the south east Cornwall and Plymouth area.

Changes will take place at the Plympton transmitter overnight on April 10 and Freeview services will be off-air until 6am. Services from some other smaller local transmitters in the Caradon Hill group will also be subject to disruption during the day until late afternoon. Satellite and cable TV are not affected.

Further changes will take place at other transmitters in the Caradon Hill group on June 19 following the completion of work in neighbouring areas.  Transmitters in the Caradon Hill group include Downderry, Fowey, Polperro and St Neot.

Any viewers who are missing channels after work has been done to their transmitter can retune. Retuning should be straightforward and some TV equipment will retune automatically. Some older aerials may need to be replaced to continue receiving all channels. Viewers may be eligible for free in-home support, including aerial work if needed.

Anyone who needs advice, or who finds they are still missing services after retuning, can visit the Freeview website at www.freeview.co.uk/tvchanges or contact the Freeview Advice Line free on 0808 100 0288.
