THOUSANDS of Ukrainian Refugees will be given help and support from Freemasons in England and Wales, including the Province of Cornwall, following a grant of £50,000 to the British Red Cross.
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (the Freemasons’ Charity) and the United Grand Lodge of England have been monitoring the growing refugee crisis of over 500,000 Ukrainian people who have been forced from their country or been internally displaced from their homes. Freemasonry is seeking to identify the most critical needs and is pleased to be able to support and work with the British Red Cross in helping the growing number of refugees.
Les Hutchinson, the chief executive of the MCF and Dr David Staples, the Grand Secretary of the United Grand Lodge of England have reported that they are inspired by the efforts of individuals and lodges and their response to the growing humanitarian crisis.
A spokesperson said: “The members of Granville Lodge will continue to work hard to raise charitable funds to support those in real and urgent need.”
