SALTASH is to have free parking on Saturdays from July 1 to the end of November, after successful negotiations between STIG (Saltash Town Council Improvement Group) and Cornwall Council.

STIG chairman Adam Killeya said the group was confident the free parking would prove successful in boosting the town centre.

The scheme will cost the town council £395 per Saturday.
