Heartlands in Pool is the venue for a large celebration of Cornish Mining History on Saturday, August 31.
South Crofty ’39 pays homage to Cornwall’s mining history but in particular remembers the successful strike of 1939 which came to a conclusion 80 years ago.
Activities include talks by former Crofty miners and the mine’s union leaders, to films marking the creation of Cornwall as a World Mining Heritage Area and a Cornish language workshop.
There will also be music from groups including the world famous Holman-Climax Male Voice Choir and Camborne Town Band.
The event runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm with free entry.
