A small working party has been set up in Fowey, with both councillors and non-councillors, to consider the future of the town hall, and its facilities.

The lease of the town hall from Restormel council has been renewed for a further seven years, and improvements have been made, such as the removal of a broken flagpole, the replacement of a noticeboard which had gone rotten and the installation of slate 'Town Hall' plates instead of the previous painted board.

Town mayor, Paul Caswell, welcomed this, but added: 'Before long the hall will need re-decoration, and the kitchen upgrading, besides other work.'
