Fowey area plans due to be discussed by members of Restormel council's conservation area advisory panel this week, included that to carry out alterations and restoration at Menabilly House.

Arts project
An arts youth project is being considered as part of the Daphne du Maurier 2000 festival.
The festival next year is likely to incorporate a 'European Writers Conference' workshop and the launch of literary awards.
Lottery/arts council funding has been sought and discussions have taken place with South West Arts which had indicated that the proposal fulfilled the criteria for grant aid of up to £3,000.
The awards would include a national competition for short stories with a £5,000 first prize and a 'Young Writers award' for those under 18 with a £500 top prize.
Festive lights
The Christmas lights will be switched on in Fowey on December l0, with Father Christmas due to be present to hand out sweets to youngsters and mince pies and mulled wine for the grown-ups.
Meeting appeal
With the annual meeting of Fowey Royal regatta committee early next year it seems as if the organisation is likely to see the current chairman, secretary and treasurer step down.
The committee has appealed for others who feel they could fill the breach to attend the meeting on February 7 in the town hall. Regatta week next year will run from August 13-19.
Hospital money
This year's Fowey Hospital Day raised a total of £4,364. Of this £2,000 was from street and house collections and £2,364 from the fete.
Leader wanted
There are fears that the Scout group in Fowey may fold if volunteers are not found to help run the troop.
The present Group Scout leader, John Eaton, would like to take more of a back seat due to work commitments, and has less time than he would like to devote to Scouting activities.
The appeal is for anyone who could help one night a week for two hours. For those who would like to train as a leader there are courses which would be paid for by the group. Anyone interested, who is over 20, should contact John on 01726 832880 or Paul Dutton on 01726 833258.
Sunday services
Services this Sunday at St Fimbarrus will include 8am Holy Communion, 11am Family Service and 6pm Holy Communion with the ministry of healing.
