The RSPCA rescued more cats than any other animal last year including 180 in Cornwall - 123 of which were rehomed.
This week the charity is raising awareness of its work finding homes for animals most in need.
Among those waiting for new homes at the Cornwall branch near St Columb are 16-year old Minnie who has a couple of easily manageable health conditions; two-year-old Buddy, who enjoys life to the full despite a heart condition; 11-year-old Reggie who loves human company and three year-old Pepper who is in desperate need of a cat companion
