TWO youth groups in Liskeard have benefitted from fundraising by the town’s former mayor.

Councillor Jane Pascoe made it her mission to support youth groups during her year as civic leader.

And now she has visited the Eden Youth Club and the Liskeard Youth Centre to present cheques to both sets of young people.

The Eden Youth Club meet at the Salvation Hall on a Friday, while the Liskeard Youth Centre is also open on a Friday at the Liskerrett Centre. Youngsters aged 11-13 meet from 5.15pm and the 14-18 year olds’ session is from 7-9pm.

A spoksesperson for Young People Cornwall, which runs the Liskerrett-based groups, said: ‘The youth club and young people would like to extend a huge thankyou to Jane Pascoe for her generous donation of £100.

‘The youth workers will be asking young people what they would like to see the money spent on.’
