A buyer has banked the former NatWest branch in Callington with a £93,000 purchase at auction.

The extensive town centre property was sold by auctioneers Clive Emson.

Laid out largely over three storeys, the property includes a banking hall, several offices, a former safe room, a basement, an archive store and off-street parking.

The purchaser was a local property investor, said a spokesperson for Clive Emson.

However, their plans for the building are not known at this stage.

Meanwhile, also in Callington, receivers instructed the sale of ground floor commercial premises in the town centre at 12 Fore Street.

The property – sold on the remainder of a 999-year lease from May 2008 at a peppercorn ground rent – achieved its freehold guide to sell for £28,000.
