Football - Sponsorship passes to the next generation
When Polperro Football Club were in need of a second pitch some 20 years ago Mike and Eleanor Stone came to the rescue and allowed the club to use their facilities at the Treble B Holiday Centre. Mike has remained as club President ever since and the couple have regularly sponsored kit for the club.
Now that the Stones are taking things a little easier (they only have the Kilminorth Holiday Cottage complex to look after!) the family tradition of sponsorship has passed to the next generation.
Daughter Veronica and her husband, Gary Rickard, have recently taken over and revitalised the Jubilee Inn at Pelynt whilst son Allan is the new driving force behind the Admiral Boscarne in Looe and both ventures were delighted to donate match balls to the club as a beginning to what will hopefully be a long and successful relationship.
