This was a fairly open game, with both sides playing some attacking football. However, there was a lack of clear-cut chances until Ray Clarke hooked in. It took just a couple of minutes for Sean Johns to put the sides level once more, and his was the goal of the game, a low shot into the corner of the net from the edge of the box.

Several half chances were created by not taken, and Launceston once again paid dearly for those missed chances, when two second half goals from Clarke gave St Austell a 3-1 victory.
