The boys and girls of Fowey Community School are through to an Area Final of the Wagon Wheels National Cup - the country's biggest and best indoor five-a-side football competition for boys and girls under 12.

In the East Cornwall finals, boys from Fowey Community School battled it out to beat their Newquay Tretherras School opponents 4-1 and the girls from Fowey Community School beat Launceston College 3-0.

Twelve Area Finals will be held during January and February this year, with the winners going on to compete in the National Finals. These will be staged at Aston Villa Leisure Centre on 18 March 2000 when twelve boys teams and eight girls teams from across England will compete for the title of Wagon Wheels National Cup Champions.

Over 20,000 boys and girls from across England take part in the tournament each year.
