THE Lions Club of Callington will present an extravaganza of 'Food and Fashion' at Callington Town Hall on Wednesday, April 27. The show starts at 7.30pm with the audience spellbound by the culinary skills of award-winning chef Nick Barclay of Barclay House, East Looe. The restaurant achieved the 'Taste of the West' Gold Award in 2003 and 2004, and claimed the 'Best Restaurant in Cornwall' award. With appetites duly whetted, patrons can enjoy drinks and nibbles which are included in the ticket price, as the scene changes to reveal a world of fashion. Elegant models will strut the catwalk showing the latest styles. The organisers are extremely grateful to Lewis Bond of Kittows, Callington, for sponsoring the event, and to well-known local personality Phil Russo, who will compere. As seating is limited, the Lions would urge all those interested to get in early and buy their tickets from either Kittows, Fore Street, Callington, or from Lions members, including Lion Jeff Hearn on 01822 832109. The club recently sent off £2,000 to the Tsunami Appeal, and seeks to replenish its charity fund to support local causes.
