Your most popular and most read Cornish Times Letters Page is the best way we know of reaching the hundreds of people throughout the Caradon district who supported the recent Children's Hospice Flag Week.
During this very special week our aim is to raise awareness and funds for Little Bridge House which provides a very special service to life-limited children and their families. Many children's conditions deteriorate slowly and this puts an enormous strain on family life.
The staff at Little Bridge House is dedicated to providing love, care and support for the whole family. The care provided is free to the families who need it but it costs about £ million a year to operate.
Each year, 14 co-ordinators engage the help of around 200 people who are the front line workers. They knock on doors and stand on street corners in all kinds of weather. Then there are collecting boxes in shops, pubs, schools, churches, factories, offices and banks. We thank you for your loyalty to this annual event. It just couldn't happen without your help.
The money raised in the Caradon district was £4,151.94. We appreciate all the more this super amount when we think of all the other charities making demands on your giving.
Thank you for deciding this time to help our sick children to make the most of the previous time they have left.
There are seats available on the coach going to Little Bridge House for their open day on Saturday November 20. For further information please contact Chris Hallam on 01579 345426 as soon as possible.
