SALTASH Fire Cadets and teams of enthusiastic volunteers are taking extreme measures to raise money for local a Cadet scheme based at Saltash Fire Station. They are all taking part in 'The Big Pull' of a Land Rover across the Tamar Brigade at 10am on Sunday, September 5. They will be starting on the Plymouth side and teams will be lined up to pull back over to Saltash. 'This event is kindly being sponsored by Roger Young of Land Rovers, Saltash,' said Darren Berrey, Fire Cadets Co-ordinator. 'We have been avidly searching for sponsors or volunteers who can help us raise money for their local cadets as the running costs of the scheme are borne by each branch via fund raising and sponsorship. 'Much of our funds are raised through the local community and businesses with all instructors, who are both uniformed and non-uniformed members of the Brigade, giving their time freely.'
