The Great Cornish Knit-in has become a popular annual event for the Cornwall Branch of the British Red Cross.

Over 40 residential homes throughout the county took part last year and raised nearly £2000 for the society.

This year the event will be held during the week of February 21 and many elderly people in residential homes all over the county will be getting together for a coffee and a chat, knitting rows sponsored by family and friends, and will be doing their very best to try and pass the £2,000 barrier.

The proceeds of this event will once again help to maintain the Medical Loan service facilities countywide.

This service lends equipment such as wheelchairs, walking frames and other equipment free of charge to people in need throughout Cornwall.

If your residential home has not received details of the event and would like to take part, contact Jane Ayres, British Red Cross 01872 272471.

Other groups and individuals also welcome to take part.
