SALTFEST 2021 is calling on members of the public and businesses to support the festival and help give local people a wonderful event to enjoy after such a difficult period.
The cancellation of the Saltash Mayfair and other activities in the town over the last year led the Chamber of Commerce and Saltash Mayfair Committee to put their heads together and come up with a festival that would combine the best elements of various other popular events.
SaltFest 2021 will include stalls and entertainment in the town centre in the daytime, and live music at Longstone Park in the evening.
With the date of the event fast approaching on July 31, organisers will very soon need to put deposits down and make bookings.
Monday’s announcement on social distancing rules means a four-week delay in the lifting of all restrictions, but the SaltFest event at the end of July still looks ok to go ahead.
“It will be about the numbers that are allowed at that time,” said Councillor Hilary Frank, who is on the organising committee.
“We’ll be keeping a weather eye on the roadmap. I’m pretty sure that we will go ahead, and we are really keen – the community really deserve this kind of event!”
6,000 raffle tickets have been printed and are being sold at The Bookshelf and Eclectic at Home in Saltash.
Prizes of £150, £100, and £50 are being sponsored by Chapple Property Management and the two retailers named above.
The committee say that hundreds of pounds must be raised in the very near future to enable SaltFest to go ahead next month – and they’re encouraging everyone to buy a few tickets and help get this festival buzzing!
