BUSINESSES in Saltash and district are being urged to ensure they do not lose out on the chance to cash in on Objective One Euro funding.

The chairman of Saltash Chamber of commerce and industry, Bob Frost, fears that many may well let slip their chance of benefiting from the £314 million Objective One funding allocated to Cornwall.

Caradon Leader 11 representative, Michael Hinks, explained at the Chamber's recent meeting that the money is available to create new jobs, preserve existing posts, and support local community projects. But individual businesses have little practical chance of making a successful bid - so it is vital for them to join together in organisations such as Saltash Chamber of Commerce in order to pool resources, share expertise, and put in claims for funding to the mutual benefit of all members.

Most local applications, he said, will be dealt with by Caradon Leader 11 who fully appreciate that Cornwall depends on its small businesses, which are in need of every assistance possible. For more information contact Bob Frost on 01752 848277 or Chamber secretary, Ken Martin, on 01752 847623.
