Farmers in the Liskeard area came together at the town’s Coop store to promote British produce as part of a national campaign.
Red Tractor Week is highlighting the red tractor logo – an assurance that foods are farmed in Britain and produced to high standards.
James Moon, who farms beef and lamb just outside Liskeard, said: ‘The Red Tractor is a standard mark that the whole industry works to.
’It’s assurance right across the whole spectrum of products. It gives the customer the satisfaction of knowing about conditions on the farm and how animals are reared.
‘Inspections take place to make sure we’re doing the job to a high standard, including in terms of feed and medicines.’
Co-op’s poultry agricultural manager Cath Bennett said: ‘The Coop is passionate about supporting British produce so we’re delighted to support Red Tractor Week here in Liskeard.’
