Hundreds of Liskeard-Looe Rugby Club fans will be descending on Twickenham tomorrow for the EDF Junior Vase Final – rugby's equivalent of the FA Cup for smaller clubs.

Five coaches full of supporters will be leaving from Liskeard School at 6am tomorrow and many other people will be catching trains or heading up to London in their cars.

Club secretary Barry Mumford predicts that around 700 fans from the area will be heading to the famous rugby ground to watch the final against cup rivals and pre-match favourites Brighton.

Mayor Anne Purdon will be among them. She said: 'It's a very important date in the Liskeard calendar. We wish the boys every success on this historic day.'

Playing in the match are Tristan and Ryan Moon, whose sister is getting married tomorrow at 5.30pm. They will get on the coach with the rest of the team this morning but will be catching a lift back with a helicopter to make sure they get to the church on time.

The final kicks-off at 1pm but don't worry if you won't be at Twickenham – you can still read all about it in next week's Cornish Times when our picture coverage will commemorate Liskeard-Looe's big day out! Plus see our sister paper, the Sunday Independent.
