Train operator Great Western Railway has reported that a fallen tree on the mainline between Truro and Par, and which caused delays to trains heading through the county towards Plymouth, has now been cleared away.

The disruption, which caused the cancellation or delay of trains heading to Plymouth, Exeter and London Paddington, was originally said to be likely to last until 1pm today, but at 11.45am the announcement was made that the tree had been removed.

However, GWR warns that due to the earlier disruption some train times may still have to be revised during the day before services get back to normal.
