Fountain Lions are equal on points with Market at the top of Section A as both teams recorded wins but Market have closed the games won points to just one. London drop a point to the leaders as they are held to a draw by Highway A.

Lions were 6-3 up away to Dobsons before Dobsons got into gear winning six of the next nine games to go into the last round 8-7 down. Fountain won two of the last three games to take all the points. Brian Olver and Mark Hancock, Alan Wyatt and Andy Maslem all won four for the Lions. Vic Bray and Colin Butler, Steve Spearing and Mike Hutchings all won three for Dobsons.

Market kept up their challenge with a win against bottom placed St Neot A. Market went ahead but the Institute levelled the game at six all but then only won one of the last six games to lose 11-7. Sonia Kelly and Bill Stephens won five with both other pairs winning three each. Doug Bradner and Dave Cock won three for St Neot A.

London were making steady progress away to Highway A. They were 7-5 up but then lost all the next round of games to be 8-7 down going into the last round. They managed to win two of the three to get a point. Peter Anthony and Gerald McDonald won four for Highway A. Andrew Tamblyn and Brian Martyn also won four for the London.

Wheal Tor had a close match against Con Club. The games were six all going into the fifth round but each team won three each to share the points. All pairs won three each for Wheal Tor. Val and Snowy Pryor won five for Con Club.

Garrison continue their climb up the table with an 11-7 win over Highway C. Garrison were 8-7 up going into the last round and clincher the win by taking all of the last three games. Terry Lobb and Trevor Burton, Stan Summers and Nigel Puckey all won four for Garrison. Sharon Julian and Michelle Wilton won three for Highway C.

Legion B were 9-6 down going into the last round against Police A but won all the last three games to get a much needed point. John Waters and Phil Toms won one for the Police Club. All pairs won three for Legion B.

White Horse now lead Section B by only one point from White Hart A after they lost to Legion A and White Hart A won against Police B. White Hart B stay in third spot with Legion C in fourth place.

Legion A were always ahead against leaders White Horse and ran out 11-7 winners. Allan Randall and Colin Penwarden won five, Derek Charge and Min Prisk won for Legion A. George Keast and Phil Kurn won three for White Horse.

White Hart A went into a 7-2 lead at home to Police B. Police then won five to go into the last round 8-7 down but could only win one game in the last round so White Hart took all the points. A Walker and L Crocker won for White Hart A. Dave Crocker and Richard Bailey won four for Police B.

White Hart B won their match 13-5 at home to Barley B. White Hart went 8-1 up after three rounds and then won five of the last nine games to win comfortably. J Bennallick and Brian Raines won five, Paul and Lee Gibbs, T Pound and R Gillbard all won for White Hart B. Shane Pollard and Jamie Sweetlove top scored for Barley B with three.

Legion C were 6-3 up away to Cheesewring but the 'Cheesers' fought back by winning three of the last nine games to hold Legion C to a 10-8 win. Chrissie Haynes and Brian Crabb won five, Jim Rodda and Brian Clift won three for Legion C. Dawn Gregory and Jan Mitchell, Steve Windmill and Steve Coombs all won three for Cheesewring. Helen and Kev were brushed in the fifth leg.

Market B came back from 9-6 down to win the last three games for a draw against Fountain. M Brooks and N White won four for Market. P Mason and R Young won five, Chris Hocking and 'Fred' Markham won four for the Fountain. M Pengelly and Lee Prout were brushed.

Lord Eliot went 6-3 up against neighbours Barley A. Barley then won the next three games to level the scores only for the Eliot to win five of the last six games to take the points 11-7. Ian Gill and John Bartlett, Stu Braidwood and Nina Haynes all won four for Lord Eliot. Pete Stewart and C Vincent won four for Barley A.

Knock Out Cup Quarter Finals results - London 10, Fountain 8; Con Club 7, Highway C 11; Legion C 10, Barley A 11; Market 10, Legion B 8.

London stormed to a 9-3 lead over Fountain but them won only one of the last six games to gain the win. Chris Penter and William Taylor won four with both other pairs winning three each. Chris Hocking and 'Fred' Markham, R Young and A Brooking all won three for the Fountain.

Highway C had a fruitful visit to Con Club winning 11-7. The scores were level at the end of the fourth round before Highway C pounced to win five of the last six games. Nigel Williams and Francis Julian won five, Dave Exall and Bernie Hardy won four for Highway C. Steve and Gary Pryor won four for Con Club.

Barley A belied their league position by winning away to Legion C in the seventh and deciding round. Barley were behind for all of the game but came good at the finish to record an 11-10 win. Lisa Haley and Marion Denning won five, Pete Stewart and Duane Goode won four for Barley A. Chrissie Haynes and Sue Murrey, Brian Crabb and Dave Allen all won four for Legion C.

Market won a tight match against Legion B. Market were 8-4 up and coasting but Legion B came back to go into the last round only 8-7 down. They then only managed to win one more game to lose 10-8. Bill Stephens and Sonia Kelly won, while Simon Harris and Rob Trevarthen won three for Market. Alan White and John Brice won four for Legion B.
