Wheal Tor go top of Section A on games won as Fountain Lions winning run is halted by Market A. London are looking strong in third place as they win away at Dobsons. Relegation battle is hotting up and there is now a three point gap between Con Club and Garrison.

Wheal Tor maintained their title challenge as they defeated Cup finalists Garrison to go top on games won. Scores were extremely close as Garrison went into a 7-5 lead. Wheal Tor fought back and went into the last round 8-7 down but won all three games to snatch victory. Stan Skews and Dave Clatworthy, Colleen Bolitho and Stan Sandercock all won four for Wheal Tor. Terry Lobb and Trevor Burton top scored for Garrison with four.

Fountain Lions were looking good against Market A as they went into a 7-5 lead. Market A responded by winning five of the last six games to win 10-8 and snatch both points. Jim Kelly and Frankie Powell were top pair with four with both other pairs winning three each for Market A. Alan Wyatt and Andy Maslen, Mark Hancock and Rob Olver all won four with Ian and Paul Runnalls being brushed for the Lions.

London opened strongly against Dobsons and were 7-2 up after three rounds. Dobsons got their act together and won six of the last nine but too late to prevent London taking the points. Colin Penter and Andrew Bunt won five. Brian Moore and John Armstrong won three for the London. Steve Spearing and Mike Hutchings won four with both other pairs winning two for Dobsons.

Highway A reversed their poor run of form with a 10-8 win over relegation threatened Con Club. Highway won the first half 5-4 and repeated the score in the second half. Simon Putt and Rob Pearson won five. Peter Anthony and gerald McDonald won three for Highway A. Steve and gary Pryor, Colin Blair and Ian Barker all won three Con Club.

White Horse move up to fifth equal and away from the bottom half of the table after winning away to doomed Police Con. Police Con opened in style as they lost all the opening games. White Horse shared all the rest of the games and ran out 10-8 winners. George Keast and 'Storming' Norman Woods won five, Nobby Clark and Steve Hawes won three for the White Horse. Mike Williams and John Hoar won four, Paul Mitchell and Phil Toms won three for Police Con.

Market B already relegated did White Hart A no favours as they won 11-7. White Hart A need two points from the remaining two matches to be safe. Market B won the opening round 2-1. They lost the second round 2-1 but then won all the remaining rounds 2-1 to be 11-7 winners. Shirley Vine and Mike Brooks won five with both other pairs winning three each for Market B. Taff Lewis and R Vince won four. Keith Allen and B Bettison winning two for White Hart A.

Stag still head Section B by three points as Legion C could not take advantage of Stag's void week. Legion C and White Hart C both draw Legion C were held to a draw by Highway B. Highway went 6-3 up at the halfway stage but Legion C came back by winning the second half by the same score. Chrissie Haynes and Brian Crabb won. Brian Clift and 'Super Sub' Herbie Wyatt won three for Legion C. Alison Libby and Carol Peters won four. Dave Exall and C Barnes won three for the Highway.

St Neot won the opening leg 2-1 away to White Hart C. White Hart then won six of the next nine to be 7-5 up and coasting. St Neot then won all three in round five to be 8-7 ahead. White Hart responded by winning two of the last three to snatch a point and stay strongly in contention for promotion. Nigel Williams and Francis Julian won four. Michelle Kitto and Sharon Julian won three for the White Hart C. Sarah Williams and Janet Hoskins won all six for St Neot.

Cheesewring had a tight game at home to Fountain. There was never more than one game in the match right to the end as they shared the points. A Skeet and Kevin Gregory won four. A Witts and Helen Windmill won three for Cheesewring. Lee Prout and John 'The Brick' Vague top scored with four. Fred Markham and Chris Hocking won three for the Fountain.

White Hart B take their second win in a row with a 10-8 victory over Police 999. Police opened strongly and went into a 5-4 lead. White Hart B then won the second half 6-3 to snatch the points. J Bennallick and brian Rains, S Bennett and Roger Gillbard all won four for the White hart B. Paul Bevenish and Andy Cousins won five, S and E Coombs won two for Police 999ers.

Manor Inn won the first half against Lord Eliot 6-3. Lord Eliot responded by winning the second half 5-4 but too late to prevent the manor taking both points. Steve Bird and Pete Crowl won four. Katrina Pashley and Tim Carthew, Brian Hooper and Steve Sandercock all won three for the Manor. Tris Mutton and Lesley Sapsed, Kevin Brosnan and Pete Downham all won four. Ian Gill and Pete Sapsed were brushed for the Eliot.
