Entries are open for cattle, pig, sheep, rare breed sheep and fleece sections at the Royal Cornwall Show 2017.

In recent years entry levels across the livestock classes have continued to thrive with new records being set.

The sheep section, supported again this year by Mole Valley Farmers, saw a new high recorded in 2016 when a total of 1,294 entries were received, 50 more than the previous record set in 2012.

Numbers of beef cattle are expected to receive a boost with news that the show has been selected to host the eighth National Show of South Devon Cattle this year.

Sufficient entries were received in the new Dairy Shorthorn classes staged at last year’s show to ensure their inclusion again this year, after an absence of more than 40 years.

Prize schedules, postal entry forms and the online entry system for livestock exhibitors can be found at www.rcaa.org.uk.

Entries for the livestock section close on Tuesday, April 18.
