Skiers of all abilities from Saltash.net community school took to the snowy slopes of both Austria and Switzerland, as students spent an action-packed February half term putting their skiing abilities to the test.

The over 20-hour bus trip (each way) was certainly worth it, as 38 students and four staff took to the slopes on the Austrian-Swiss border at the ski resort of Ischgl and the Swiss village of Samnaun.

The group stayed in the picturesque village of Pfunds, taking the short trip to Ischgl every morning to spend the day skiing across the international border.

Head of Year 10 and Ski Trip leader, Mr Feldwick, was impressed with how much the students improved their skiing skills. He said: ‘After a great start, it all went downhill! In all seriousness – one of, if not the best trip I have run in 13 years. We had amazing conditions and a great bunch of kids. Skiing is only the half of it – these kids learn so much about themselves and their own resilience that I really wish I could take them all. Real life learning. I can’t wait for next year.’
