A community preschool celebrated 15 years in its current permanent setting by holding a pirate party for youngsters and their families.

The Liskerrett Nursery and Preschool began in 1980 but only found a suitable permanent home when it moved into the Liskerrett Centre, a former primary school, in 2002.

‘We all felt very lucky to have such a large indoor and outdoor space,’ said Jenny Foster, who has been the preschool’s administrator for more than 20 years.

The nursery and pre-school is managed by a committee of parents and is run on a not-forprofit basis.

As staff and children celebrated the 15th anniversary, there was an added surprise with an unannounced visit from an Ofsted inspector, who graded the pre-school once again as ‘Good’.
