MORE than 350 students had a taste of future careers at an event organised by Lostwithiel’s Rotary Club.

The ‘Opening Doors to a Brighter Future’ event was hosted by the Eden Project.

Kicking off the day with a motivational talk was chairman of Trewithen Dairy and Rotarian Bill Clarke.

Then students had the chance to browse the many stalls, have a go at real-life tasks, and chat to people working in a wide range of industries and trades from hospitality and construction to public services such as the police.

Information and guidance on training and qualifications was available to those attending.

James Kittow of Lostwithiel Rotary Club said: ‘Staff from the schools that attended have said that this is such a well organised event.

‘It gives so much opportunity and advice to the vocationally minded students, and is a definite help with choosing a career path for later on in life.’
